De palma - Mission: Impossible Reviews
I haven't seen a film by this director whose characters weren't one dimensional cartoons, and while Cruise tries to make it work the story and presentation is hopelessly simplistic. MI also undoes what made the TV show work, intelligent gadgetry combined with the con. A mess.
Tom cruise is the man - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Who cares what Cruise does in his life off screen because the man can act. This movie is great and so are many of his other movies including Top Gun, Days of Thunder, MI3, MI2, Collateral and Jerry Maguire

Mission: entaining failure - Mission: Impossible Reviews
I admit, I liked this movie. I know: the story was poor, the acting was poor, and the script was worse. But still, how many times do you get to see Tom Cruise jump onto a helicopter while it is going through a train tunnle? The answer: a lot, if you watch the M:I series. Or at least, you get to see a lot of stupid, crazy stunts like that. It was entertaining. It was exciting. It was crazy. And for some reason, every time I see Tom Cruise, I start laughing. I want to see the last one, the ,hopefully, crazy end to a crazy series. Basicaly, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is trying to get the Mach list from someone named "Max". Along the way, he meets up with his dead friend's wife and, predictably, they fall in love. Whoo!
Mission impossible is amazing - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This is one great action packed movie. It's spectacular and very intriguing. It's of Tom Cruise's best roles ever. The movie's background music defitnely gets into the scene's problem and what is about to happen next. Not to mention, one of the most greatest and very cool action stunts is in this film. It's when Tom Cruise is on that high speed bullet train in France where he's on the top of the train chasing after the bad guy. And then a helicopter comes to pick up the bad guy. Instead, the rope from the helicopter is tied around a hook on top of the bullet train thanks to Tom and now the helicopter is stuck and being pulled by the train. And just as the pilot tries to free the helicopter, the train goes into a speeding tunnel and so does the helicopter. Whoa, now that's really good. Mission Impossible is a good film and it's worth seeing, and is better then the series on tv.
I expected better - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Everyone has been talking about Mission Impossible and how it is so good, but I didn't see anything interesting about the movie. I have never seen the tv series, but it dosent make a big difference how bad the move is.

Clever convolutions - Mission: Impossible Reviews
The Cold War is over but the Impossible Mission Force is still doing what it does best: planning elaborate capers and pulling off hair-raising heists in the name of patriotism. Things have changed, of course, and "Mission: Impossible" uses this notion to play off our expectations from the TV series of the same name.
Things start off normally enough. Well, normal for the IMF, at least. Our specialized spies are fooling everyone with their schemes, but not, as you would expect, without things going awry and creating suspense. However, when things go wrong this time around, they go really, horribly, wrong. And, this time, the problem might not be with the, not as foolproof as it seemed, plan. The problem might not even be enemy action. The real problem just might be that our heroes are every last bit as deceptive as they've been portrayed.
Things are rarely as they seem in Brian de Palma's films, but things do usually seem very pretty. The European settings appear elegant, baroque, and sinister all at once. Saturated colors pop out of shadowy environments. Cameras move through walls, on occasion, disorient us with odd angles, when necessary, and transform the exotic into the surreal, just before next plot twist.
But, just like the IMF's plans, or personnel, this move isn't as flawless as it might like to be. The villain's motives seem a little trite, even for someone who's been backstabbing people for decades. "Mission: Impossible's" computer usage, which is central to its plot, is questionable enough to distract computer-literate viewers. And the final stunt goes far enough overboard that the filmmakers, wisely, realized that they'd need to give the audience a wink after things finally stop flying around.
All in all, however, the film does what it sets out to do pretty well. It creates suspense, startles us with pyrotechnics , and turns the TV show's convoluted tropes inside out.
Exhibition of cruise - Mission: Impossible Reviews
De Palma and Cruise maked this film for earn money and the results was very good. It conteins unforgettable scenes with steal of the disc or orginal final in tgv train
Improbable not impossible - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This movie is very good and better than its sequel. It has great action and stealth missions that will make you want to punch the TV to try and help out Tom. There are great gadgets and fighting moves and any action fan will love this movie.

Misssion impossible - Mission: Impossible Reviews
the movie was really good in the description of the conspiracy theory and that what makes suspensful and confusing and that makes it mission impossible.
And...action! - Mission: Impossible Reviews
An amazing movie with plenty of scenes that will glue you to the screen! Tom Cruise stars as Ethan Hunt, who is a secret agent on a hunt to recover a list of his fellow agents. In the wrong hands that list could play havoc with Hunt's line of work! While searching for the list Hunt will be forced to hurdle all sorts of obstacles - including him being framed for the deaths of his espionage team members. Hunt sets up his own team and continues his race after the list and makes his way to one of the most guarded places in the world - to CIA's most impenetrable vault. With plenty of action, great visuals and, of course, Tom Cruise this movie will make you pray for a sequel. Luckily it is already out there!
If it didn't look cheesy it would have been better - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This is a pretty weak action film. It's got a bunch of good fight scenes. But the visuals are so ridculously cheesy. Action lovers take caution. Iffy

Awesome movie!!! - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This movie has a lot of boring parts that are sometimes hard to understand. However, the action sequences are amazing and the acting is also good. I would reccomend this movie to action fans who liked the james bond seies.
Sneeking around so no one can see me - Mission: Impossible Reviews
tom cruise is one hell of an actor. the movie could completely suck and just by tom cruise being in it could make it an oscar winner. while im on the subject of tom i just wanted to say he did a wonderful kick butt awesome job on this movie. like always. the only thing is i just didnt care for it. these type of movies bore me. only once in a blue moon will one happen to grace me with its presence. i appreciated it for what it was though. a well made movie. everything about it was awesome. lots of cool spy gadgets and things blowing up. suprises all over the freaking place. hey what would a spy movie be without all this good stuff.
Perfection - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This was the best spy thriller ever no questions asked. The final scene with the train and the helicopter was one of the best action sequences that I have ever seen.

It's no "james bond"--that's why i liked it - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Over the years, the "James Bond" movies haven't been very satifying--I think the last Bond movie I've appreciated that starred Pierce Brosnan was "Goldeneye." And now, in 2004, after having seen the many other "Bonds" that Pierce has starred in, including "Die Another Day," I feel like the only reason Bond movies are continued to be made are because of explosions, and sex--not that it's those aspects are a bad things--but with the "James Bond" installments, that's not why I would go to see a movie. This is why I appreciated "Mission:Impossible" alot. Made in 1996, it seems to surpass "Die Another Day," 2004, by a long shot. The plot is a little choppy, and for those who do not pay close attention, they will be lost in the forest. And though I would like to have summarized the plot for YOU, I would much rather you see this movie rather than get a summary of it from me. But where the plot contains holes, the acting stiches those holes up. The cast contains some actors of which I have never heard of, but I was convinced to give them a chance, because Tom Cruise and John Voight's performances made them look good. The direction was a bit awkward at times. The camera angles were tilted in certain scenes, that I, at a point, wanted to tilt my head so I would not get dizzy. For a film made in 1996, the visuals kept me on the edge of my seat. The editing that was done on this film made the visuals crisp and clear, and only added to the movies greatness. My favorite two visually edited scenes are the computer scene (where Tom Cruise, a.k.a. "Ethan Hunt") and the climactic train scene. "Mission" is witty, clever, and action-packed--everything a action/spy/thriller should be...let's hope the "James Bond" movie can be a contender...
Mission: impossible - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Tom Cruise ignites the screen as Ethan Hunt, leader of a crack espionage team, in this Byzantine thrill ride. When a perilous operation goes awry, Hunt soon finds himself a fugitive: A mole has penetrated the CIA, and Hunt is the No. 1 suspect. His lone chance to clear his name: Ferret out the real double agent and even the score. Hunt's scheme takes him on a twisted series of double crosses, all leading to a breathtaking Hitchcockian climax.
Mission accomplished - Mission: Impossible Reviews
The story is complicated, but the overall movie is great. Cruise does well as Hunt and has some mind blowers. Overall, a must see.

Very suspensful and enjoyable - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This is still the best of the two, even though there's less action, it's more intelligent, and surprising.
Action and explosions don't make a movie. A great plot, and story make a better movie.
And Mission Impossible succeeds in that effect, and just about everything else too.
It has one of the most well known scenes ever filmed, the one where Cruise is hanging from the rope.
It is a very succesful spy movie, and can still entertain after many viewings.
The best spy ever made - Mission: Impossible Reviews
I have to say that i really love this film. I acctually saw it yesterday and i was one more time suprised of how amazing it is. Some people say that it has flaws. Well, nobody is perfect. But the movie is so well crafted and so visually stunning you can stop thinking that you are watching, a masterpiece. Some people say that it tries to be Bond. I?m a huge fan of James Bond, but i?m realistic when i say that no Bond film, has the same style that this film has. Tom Cruise is not at all my favorite actor, but in this movie he is great, as so is the supporting cast. Congratulations to Brian de Palma for creating an instant classic. P.S: great soundtrack, too.
Mission: impossible - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Brian De Palma's take on the classic TV series, "Mission: Impossible" just had too much wrong with it for me to praise it, but it's so stylish and intriguing we can't withhold out interest. Thumbs up.

Great movie - Mission: Impossible Reviews
This is one of the best spy movies ever made. It totally resembles the original show and gives it an update for the 20th century. The movie is full of action, suspensful scenes, and like the show, plot twists. Whether or not you like the original tv series, you should see Mission: Impossible, it's a great movie.
Go have fun. - Mission: Impossible Reviews
With one of the most complex and entertaining stories of the 90's and Cruise's usual excitement, this makes for a perfect crime action thriller. This is what you call entertainment. Not the movie I'll cherish for the rest of my life, nor the film I'll tell my grandchildren about; but agian...highly entertaining.
Go watch it, you'll have fun.
Sweet! - Mission: Impossible Reviews
a abosolutly great movie! i really enjoyed watching tom cruise take on a role like this. i dunno, it just suits him. an a-list dvd.
Mind bending thriller - Mission: Impossible Reviews
One of the best movies of all time. Not only is the acting amazing but the plot is very well thought out. When you believe you know what is going to happen, you are deceived. Tom Cruise delivers an amazing performance - his best thus far. A MUST SEE!!!
A great, twisting movie!!! - Mission: Impossible Reviews
Mission: Impossible is an awesome movie with twists and turns that can boggle the mind, but once everything comes into the light, it is very easy to understand. The entire cast is good, the action scene on the speeding train was incredible, and the mystery in the movie was very good. I am not a big De Palma fan, I only really liked this and Scarface, but at some parts he could have done a lot better.
This is 100 times better than #2! - Mission: Impossible Reviews
